Several Hints for You Associated with Wedding Planning Reception

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

The wedding planning reception takes lots of time and great care because it requires a complexity of services. Once you’ve set the date, go on and book the restaurant and the hall by carefully shopping for the best offer. The budget bears the influence of the date because, the wedding party tends to be cheaper or more expensive depending on the time of the year, the season and even the day of the week.

In wedding planning, reception expenses are lower for Sunday events than for Saturday parties. Moreover, late spring, summer and early fall months take more money out of your pocket. Caterers, restaurants and service providers are willing to grant discounts to people getting married in winter, with two exceptions: New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day. You can make considerable savings by organizing the wedding at the end of January.

The budget plays the most important part for wedding planning. Reception parties increase the costs for videography, flowers, favors, cake too, in addition to the expenses for the hall and the catering service. This means that in the light of more detailed analyses we can easily conclude that the reception party is your greatest expense, although not the only one. People make the mistake of ordering too much food and drink; estimates can help you stick to the budget. When you design the menu, you ought to give an approximate number of people, because caterers usually charge by head.

Many restaurants and halls charge by person. Get a round figure before you start negotiating for the hall, since you won’t be able to estimate the rest of the expenses. Send a confirmation card with all the invitations so that you know how many guests there will be. Then focus on the seatings, because you can further experience difficulties with this part of wedding planning.

Checklists will be of great help, preventing you from forgetting essential elements. Go through each of them step by step, preferably with help from family and friends. Before actually deciding on a certain location, it is a good idea to read some wedding testimonials and try to learn from other people’s experience. Moreover, there is plenty of information to use from directories and wedding magazines available not only on the Internet but at newsstands too. Don’t forget about how important music is. The reception hall owner or manager may help you with some suggestions and contact details. Yet, you are free to choose anything and anyone you like.

Putting Up With An Eco Wedding

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

Well according to the future wife they really do exist and upon hearing this I was so baffled I had to look into exactly what this was all about. Of course it does stop here these weddings go further than eco bathroom accessories.

As any woman knows it all starts with the dress. Of course the dress has to be "the most lovely and beautiful thing I have ever worn". Never been to sure why it is so important personally but as a male I am sure there is a reason “I don’t understand these kinds of things”. There are now actually ways in which you can find designers that source only organic materials. This will mean that nothing harmful is used when making the dress itself. On top of this it means that my bill for the dress is going to be a lot higher.

The future wife also wants all of her jewellery to be made up of recycled products and wants her hairstylist to use only organic and natural products. Of course to me this is already going too far but it gets even worse!

There are so many things you can get including stationary and guestbooks that can all be made from recycled things. She is also insisting that the food for the big day is all sourced locally, I should really learn how to put my foot down.

The wedding cake can be made using free range eggs and organic and fair-trade ingredients can be used just literally add the icing to the cake on my bill. Of course I should be glad that I am helping the environment even on my wedding day.

Of course it isn’t to stop on the wedding day, oh no once we move into our new place the new wife wants Kitchen accessories as well as eco friendly vases yes she really is taking it this far.

Even people that don’t often eat candy will tuck in when it is an edible wedding favor because they get drawn into the occasion.

One unique way to give out candy as wedding favors is to use large glass bowls as the centerpieces for the tables and fill the bowls with the bride and grooms’ favorite types of candy. You can also leave a small presentation box with details of the wedding, and one that can even match the wedding theme if there is one. You can guarantee it won’t take long before the guests start filling their boxes with the candy. Cookies are other options for brides and grooms who want to give out edible wedding favors and there are a number of different options in this case. Undecorated cookies are best because they are supposed to go inside a decorated box which can have the wedding day details printed on it.

Wedding Reception Ideas For The Budget Minded Bride

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Even though you may be planning your wedding on a strict budget, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on having the reception you’ve always dreamed of. Here are a few tips and ideas to remember when it’s time to begin thinking of budget-friendly wedding reception ideas.

Book as early as possible to get the best rates, and be sure to bargain shop for prices before settling on a location for the wedding reception. Inquire about their down payment and refund policies, and make certain you know all of the extra, or additional costs well ahead of time.

Choose an off time of year, such as in the winter, usually during January or March, to find the best prices on everything from caterers, reception venues, and honeymoon costs. Likewise, getting married on a day of the week such as Monday or Friday will be considerably cheaper than the usual Saturday or Sunday affairs.

Alcohol will usually drive the price of a wedding reception right through the roof, unless of course you either eliminate it altogether, have a “beer or wine only” affair, or provide all of your own liquor instead of being charged by the venue or caterers. Another option considered to be perfectly acceptable at hotels or banquet halls is having a cash bar instead of an open bar.

Forget the traditional banquet hall and instead find a church or recreation hall, or your local community center, many of which charge prices that are considerably lower than other venues.

Depending on the number of tables at the reception, it may be a bit expensive to have disposable cameras at each table. Instead, include small, decorative note cards on every other table, along with a few pens for friends and family to record their well wishes for the happy couple. Be sure to add a small sign at each table asking guests to please write their thoughts or words of wisdom for the newlyweds on the cards that will soon be paired with photos from the disposable cameras.

Decorations don’t have to cost an arm and a leg to be beautiful. Visit your local craft store, as well as the area dollar stores to find a dizzying array of decorative possibilities, including tulle, which can be used to decorate just about anything. Dollar stores have a variety of candles, mirrors, and small decorative items that will easily turn any location into one that’s fit for a day of love and enchantment.

If possible, include a “kids only” area for those guests under a certain age to play and have fun. This is one of the most helpful wedding reception ideas of all, especially if there are any parents in the wedding party. Recruit the help of a teenage friend or relative to keep the kids under control, and be sure to provide plenty of distractions, such as coloring books and crayons, puzzles, books, and a variety of games. If you’re lucky enough to have access to a separate room, splurge and bring along a television, some fun movies and cartoons, or a few video games to keep the little ones entertained throughout the evening.

To save money on food, choose an appetizer only reception, which is usually held between the hours of 4 and 7PM, or a tea reception, serving only finger sandwiches, cake, coffee, and tea between 2 and 5PM, or a brunch or breakfast reception which would follow a wedding held during the late morning hours.
